A Backwoods Adventure

Well I decided to head north again today to hike into another remote wild brookie pond I had never tried before. I got to the trail head and started in at 6:30. Usually when I hit a new pond I put coordinates in my gps for it, but this time I thought I had the map "memorized" so I didn't need to. Well after walking for what seemed a little too long, the trail I was on ended. After a little bushwacking I saw water. I went down to the shore only to find...... I was at the wrong pond *&%#%^$. I thought I remembered from the map that there was a trail on the other side of this pond that went over to the pond I wanted, so I bushwacked around the pond to find it. Along the way my net, which was hanging off my pack, must have got caught on something and ripped off. When it did it must have loosened the string holding my rod case, because that was gone too. So I bushwacked back the way I came looking all around for my rod. After about 20 min I found it. I promptly hollered thanks to God!!!! I finished bushwacking around the pond but never found the trail, so I decided to head back to the truck. When I got back it was 9:30. I managed to find cell reception, call my wife, and get proper coordinated for the pond, and I was back on my way. I finally hit the pond about 11, just in time for the rain, wind and occasional hail to start in. Well I blew up the tube anyway and proceded to head out onto the pond and freeze. Well I guess I paid my dues because I had some of the best fishing I've ever had. I only have 2 pics however due to what would be my last disaster of the day I dropped my camera in the water. I did catch it, but it no longer takes pictures or any else usefull!!!

It was worth it
