Memorial Weekend at Stetson Pond

I spent the weekend with my wifes family at camp on Stetson pond. I think we caught preaty much every kind of warwater fish over the 2 days. Sunnys, perch, pickeral, crappie, smallmouth, largemouth, even 2 shinners on a fly. I think we found the hotspot for largemouth this afternoon just before we left.
My sister in law, hich chick definately had the hot rod , although she was cheating (spinfishing)

I tied 4 chartruess rabbit strip flies to try, they worked well except there all gone!!! 3 are in pickerals mouths, and the last one took off in the mouth of a big ol largemouth!! Time to hit the vice

Trout Pond.... should have gotten there earlier

My father in law and I headed out to a pond off the stud mill road this am. We got on the POnd about 8am. There were fish rising and biting as soon as we got there. However by 10 AM as the sun started its march toeard 90 degrees, the fishing just shut right off. We hung around (and baked) until late afternoon to see if there would be a Hendrickson hatch. The was, but nothing was rising to it. Too hot I guess.

Fishing with Kevin

Dave Pete and I met early this morning to try for some brook trout. It was very cold,30 degrees and colder in the shade. Dave did manage one beautiful brook trout.

We then headed for the Penobscot to do some scouting, the river is still high 36,000 cfs. We didn't have much time but did manage to find them. We had several fallows and short takes but only managed one.

Fishing with Capt. Nemo

Karl drove up from his hideout it southern Maine to do a little fishing in the Old Town area. First we hit a trout stream that I thought would be prime this weekend, but it turned out to be real slow, just one fish.

After stopping for lunch we went out on the real adventure..... An afternoon of crappie fishing. The crappie were real fiesty and willing to bite.

The crappie were a blast on my new 2wt. I also got one smallmouth that was a real ride on the 2.
